links above to jump to a different section. I've written a description for
each of the samples shown to help you better understand the challenges and
solutions.
If you have any questions about any of these pieces, or you want to see some
more work that may not be posted here, drop

Enjoy!
Playstages (creators of an innovative theater set for children)
wanted an overall new updated look and feel, starting with their marketing
material. Since the previous materials were very basic (5 one side letter
size word docs stapled together), I scrapped everything and stuck to their
one and only request—to arrive at a professional, bold new look while
staying within their budget.
The solution: I designed a pocket folder, that was die cut to
house a 7x10.5" full color off-set product catalog, business cards and
data sheets (specifically designed for digital printing to cut costs). The
client was very pleased (see web for more samples
from Playstages).
GreatBridge developed a sort of "help desk" for Open Source Software,
Free Software (OSS/FS) or programs whose licenses give users the freedom to
run the program for any purpose, to study and modify the program, and freely
redistribute copies of either the original or modified program (without having
to pay royalties to previous developers).
Since Open Source is primarily geared toward hackers, I felt a
mysterious cyber space approach would interest the die hard
computer gurus and allure them to the show so they could see what GreatBridge
was all about.
It was a clearer picture of what McAfee offered and a more competitive look
that were the drivers on this re-design. All 6 of the boxes were re-concepted
and redesigned. Photography was selected or created to develop a sharper cleaner
look, and red was used almost exclusively to establish the color McAfee would
now "own".
I was involved in each of the above mentioned steps to get the
boxes to their final stage, but, I alone developed the style and manipulated
each of the photos using 5 colors (CMYK and PMS200) and a 6th color (Metallic
Gold) on 2 of the 6 boxes to create the
unique and serious look & feel.
New Hampshire Business for Social Responsibility was to hold their Annual
Inaugural Event. Besides the date, time, some content copy and a very limited
non-profit budget, I was given very little direction. I created a very cost
effective piece, as well as an effective concept using squares to represent
a sort of "square one" or first in many annual events to come.
The manner in which a recipient RSVP 'ed to this event, was an innovative
and responsible solution. The recipient simply entered their data into a web
destination page. The data was then emailed to NHBSR, and an auto confirmation
e-mail was sent out.
How do you customize an average trade show booth display,
without changing the shape of it? You totally re-design what wraps around
it.
PlanetCAD, the leading provider of engineering software solutions, only
had one request, the booth design was to have an "MTV" style. With
that in mind, while including a photographic reference to each of their verticals,
I geared the booth in the scientific, liquid direction and added
a hint of movement. To keep the costs to a minimum I used only two spot colors
and royalty free stock imagery.
David Corbin, a political candidate for NH State Senate, was
referred to me by Sqamscott Press (an offset printing facility located in
Stratham, NH). David and I sat down and discussed his needs, he's few instructions
boiled down to--all of his copy was to be included, organized in a presidential
way, and on no larger than a 21.5"x11" sheet.
The brochure specs, due to a limited budget, only allowed for 3 colors (red,
blue, gold) on the outside and 2 colors (red, blue) on the inside. The final
product is presidential, and does not appear to have been produced on a limited
budget.
